She is survived by: her husband Ron; her sisters, Ellen Priest (Roger) and Rose Drew (Ron Hultman); her daughters, Kristina Whiteman (Geoff) and Kathryn Hultman-Schlabach (Brad); and her grandchildren, Patrick Whiteman, Griffin and Lyla Hultman-Schlabach. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great, and great-great, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Somerset Beach Campground (9822 Brooklawn Ct, Somerset Center, MI 49282). Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Arbor Church (120 E Main St, Spring Arbor, MI 49283). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Somerset Beach Campground (9822 Brooklawn Ct, Somerset Center, MI 49282). As their family expanded, Jan extended her love for her grandchildren in both practical and sentimental ways, whether that be through matching Christmas PJ's, new sneakers every fall, or "Thursdays at Three with Nonna" during the pandemic shutdown.
