He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Bonin and Roberta Schultz; and his wife Phyllis LaBar. He is survived by: his sons, Jeffrey Bonin (Karen) and Michael Bonin (Jill); his grandchildren, Eric Newald, Rebecca Bolthouse (Josh), Melissa Spreck (Ryan), Stephanie Hansma (Drew), Christa Coots (Ethan), Linnea Smith (Dallas), Caroline Ortiz (Manuel), Forrest Bonin (Shayna), Cooper Bonin (Laura), Parker Bonin and Tate Bonin; his sister Benetta Phare (Stephen); and his brother-in-law Paul LaBar. He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Olivet Evangelical Free Church (6790 Harvey Rd, Spring Lake, MI 49456). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
