He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Tanner and Evelyn Tanner (Heisler). He is survived by : his wife Mary Michele Tanner; his children, Nicole Tanner Kelly, Robert Tanner (Ashlee) and Timothy Tanner (Lauren Konkle); his grandchildren, Emma Tanner, Carson Kelly, Claire Kelly, Connor Kelly, Cole Kelly, Gage Tanner, Gavin Tanner, Madelynn Tanner and Tessa Tanner; and his siblings, Linda Benden (Paul), Susie Zerbe (Chet) and Thomas Tanner (Cindy). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Memorial contributions may be given to S.A.F.E. (Springport Area Foundation for Education) or St. John the Evangelist Parish.
