Barbara Judith Wuepper Obituary

Barbara Judith Wuepper, known lovingly as Barb, passed away on June 3, 2026, at My Michigan Standish Hospital. She was born on March 9, 1939, in Bay City, Michigan, to the late Robert and Eva (Reviere) Fisher, and she lived a life marked by devotion, kindness, humor, and wisdom.

Barb married the love of her life, Thomas, on September 3, 1960, at the Fremont United Methodist Church in Bay City. Together they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage, building a home filled with love, laughter, and steadfast commitment. Their partnership was a true example of enduring devotion, and those who knew them could see the strength and warmth they brought to one another and to their family.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas, and their two daughters, Deborah (Paul) Daly and Leandra (David) Long. Barb was a proud and loving grandmother to Ryse (Laken) Brink, Graham Beechum, Jessica Long, David Long Jr, and Chad (Hannah) Long, and she treasured her 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply. She is also survived by her sister, Constance McVannel. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Donald McVannel.

Barb devoted many years of her life to work that reflected her love of service and her appreciation for learning and community. She was a librarian for numerous years and volunteered at libraries throughout the Bay City School District, an effort that brought her great pleasure and allowed her to share her love of books with others. She also ran and operated the O & M Mobile Park, served as deputy treasurer for Moffitt Township, and was deputy Postmaster of Alger. In every role she held, she was known for her reliability, her strong work ethic, and her ability to carry out her responsibilities with grace and good judgment.

Barb especially enjoyed watching the birds and tending to her flower beds, finding peace and satisfaction in the simple beauty of the world around her. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she took great joy in their lives, their accomplishments, and the time they shared together. The love she gave so freely will remain a lasting part of her family's memories.

Her life was one of devotion to family, service to community, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through the generations she helped shape. Barb will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished always.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 11 am from the Alger United Methodist Church with burial in Alger Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Standish Chapel on Monday, from 3 to 8 pm. On Tuesday, friends may visit at the church from 10 am until time of service.
