Barbara J. Maybouer Obituary
Barbara J. Maybouer, June 10, 1939 – May 14, 2026, Saginaw, Michigan, Miss Maybouer passed away on May 14, 2026 at Healthsource Saginaw.
She was born in Sterling, Michigan June 10, 1939 to Lyle R. Maybouer and Onalea (Kitchen) Maybouer.
Barbara lived with and was lovingly raised by her grandparents, Ross and Zedena Kitchen.
She attended the Sterling Schools and graduated from Sterling High School in 1957. She moved to Saginaw, Michigan shortly thereafter. She attended the Saginaw Comptometer School while living at the Saginaw YWCA. She was employed by Saginaw Savings & Loan Association; Mahar Tool Co.; Mean Stamping; Morley Brothers; and was co-partner with Gerry Wills in the Knitting Knook. She was a devoted caregiver to Gerry for many years. Barbara retired from the Saginaw County Clerk's Office.
Barbara will be remembered for her loyal friendship to so many people; her helping hands and bright mind that taught so many women to express the joy of learning the art of needlework of all types. She loved singing in the Saginaw Choraleer's group and church choir. Her great sense of humor and quick wit made it a delight to spend time with her. In her many years of working co-workers could count on her to be ready to help out, as a good teacher would share her knowledge.
Barbara is survived by her sister's Janet Woods of Elkhart, Indiana; also of Elkhart, Indiana; a brother Robert Maybouer of Clarkston. Niece Marissa (Scott) Hunter and their son Theodore. Nephew Matthew (Sarah) Maybouer and their children Jacob and Warren. Nephews Tim, Ryan and Todd Woods and Ricky and Zac Howey also Nieces Kalie Smith, Katie Woods and Allie Hill al of Elkhart, Indiana. Many great nephews and nieces. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, her loving sister Sharon Howey.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Healthsource and Hospice for the compassionate care. Barbara will be remembered for a long time by her treasured friend Deann (Dee) Lewis of Mequon, Wisconsin; and dear lifetime friend Patricia Evans.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 12 noon from the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel 127 N. Forest St. Standish, Michigan with burial at Sterling Cemetery, Sterling, Michigan. Family will greet friends at Lee Ramsay Standish Chapel on Tuesday, from 10 am until the time of service.
