Charlotte Ilene Fiddler Obituary
Charlotte I. Fiddler passed away December 1, 2025, at My Michigan Hospital in Standish. Born May 21, 1932, in Standish, Michigan to the late Fabian and Beatrice (Shannon) Castonguay. Charlotte's life was a tapestry of devotion to her family, her faith, and the joy of simple, pleasures. Charlotte's early years were spent in the nurturing environment of Standish, where she, attended Standish High School. After graduation, she worked for a brief period at Standish Bank, where she was known for her intelligence and warm demeanor.
On June 11, 1960, she, married the love of her life, Raymond Fiddler, at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Omer, Michigan. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and partnership that would span over, six decades. Charlotte and Raymond were blessed with a loving family, including their children Timothy, (Amy) Fiddler, Christopher Fiddler, Celeste Kras, Michelle (Keith) Gross, Rachel (Allen), Straughen. She was a cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of kindness and wisdom.
Charlotte also leaves behind her siblings Patrick Castonguay, and Maryann (James) Dion, who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Fiddler, her brother Clare Castonguay and her sister-in-law Diane Castonguay. After marrying Ray, Charlotte dedicated her life to raising their children in Detroit, where she, was an exemplary homemaker. Her hands were rarely still, as she found joy in sewing, reading, and singing in the church choir. Ray and Charlotte were devoted members of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church where they could provide hands on support to their community.
Upon retiring, Charlotte and Ray returned to Standish, where she enjoyed the tranquility of her hometown and took up their faith at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church. Charlotte sang, in the choir, was a eucharistic minister and devoted time to the food pantry among other, charitable work. Charlotte cherished the yearly Shannon Family Reunion and enjoyed game, night until the very end. Those who knew Charlotte will remember her as loving, faith-filled, and an intelligent woman. Her gentle spirit and unwavering support were the foundations upon which her family thrived.
Charlotte's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds. Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced later with entombment at the Resurrection of the Lord Cemetery.
