Christopher Michael Jenkins Obituary
Christopher "Chris" Jenkins age 54 was born on August 1, 1972, in West Branch, Michigan. He spent his childhood in Alger, where he developed the love for the outdoors that would stay with him for the rest of his life.
Chris built a life centered around the people he loved most. He shared 27 wonderful years in Sterling with his wife, Danette Yenior Jenkins, where together they raised their three daughters: Emily, Morgan, and Brooke. He worked as a CNC machinist, taking great pride in his work and providing for the family he loved so deeply.
If you knew Chris, you knew that he was happiest outside. Whether he was in the woods hunting, out on the water fishing, or simply spending time in nature, the outdoors was where he felt at home. He also had a passion for racing stock cars and found some of his greatest joy coaching his daughters on the softball field. Some of his favorite memories were the ones made alongside his family, around campfires, sharing stories, and creating traditions that will continue to live on through them.
More than anything, Chris was a devoted husband, dad, and friend. He was the kind of person people could count on—steady, hardworking, and always willing to lend a hand. His sense of humor, quiet strength, and unconditional love for his family will be remembered every day by those fortunate enough to know him.
Chris is survived by his wife, Danette; his daughters, Emily, Morgan (Charles Kolbiaz), and Brooke (Roger Belchack); his parents, Doyelene and Michael Jenkins; his sister, Tracie Couture; his parents-in-law, Ken and Janice Yenior; his sister- and brother-in-law, Amy and Bill Nichols; his nieces and nephews, Austin, Charysh (Mike), Austin (Sara), and Alexis (Jason); along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Chris's legacy lives on in the memories he created with those he loved and in the woods, waters, racetracks, and ball fields that always felt like home. Though he is gone, the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely will remain with his family forever.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday August 8, 2026, at 11:00am at the Beacon of Light Methodist Church in Standish Michigan, with Elder Ladd White presiding. Friends are invited to visit with family on Friday August 7, 2026, at the Lee Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel from 2:00pm to 8:00pm and on Saturday from 10:00am until time of service at the church with cremation to follow.
