Margaret L. Zajechowski Obituary

Margaret "Marg" L. Zajechowski, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away on October 23, 2025, at McLaren Bay following a lengthy illness. Born on December 1, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Henry and Alta Mae (Schubring) McClintock, Marg's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and the joy she brought to those around her.

Marg's journey began graduating from McKenzie High School, where she set a standard of excellence that would follow her throughout her life. On November 26, 1966, she married the love of her life, Jerome, at Our Lady Gate of Heaven. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter on the northern side of Detroit, raising their family with the same values of hard work and dedication that Marg embodied. In 2000, Marg and Jerome moved to Forest Lake to embrace the tranquility of retirement.

Marg's professional life was marked by two decades of devoted service at the Saline Evangelical Home, where her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many. Her work was not just a job but a calling, as she brought comfort and care to those she served.

A woman of many interests, Marg found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a talented painter of ceramics, an enthusiast of watching action adventure and murder mystery movies, and an adventurous soul who loved traveling with Jerry, going on vacations and doing the winery tours including trips to the casino. Yet, it was in the kitchen where Marg's heart truly shone. Known for her exceptional cooking and baking skills, her zucchini breads were legendary, and her culinary creations were the centerpiece of many family gatherings. She truly loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially these past couple years she was not able to travel but the daily loving and sharing phone calls meant so much to her.

Marg's love for her family was boundless. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jerome, and their children: Kenneth J. Zajechowski, Lynette & Paul Spina, and Jeffrey & Karen Zajechowski. Her grandchildren, Jacob, Amanda, Austin, Alex, and Zachary, will carry forward the legacy of her love and the cherished memories they created together. Marg was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Henry (Karen) McClintock.

A faithful member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Prescott, MI, Marg's spiritual life was a cornerstone of her existence. Her loving, kind, and generous nature reflected her deep faith and the values she held dear.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday November 1, 2025 from Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Standish at 4 pm with burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Standish Chapel on Saturday from 12 pm to 4 pm.
