Raymond Ronald Mielke Sr. Obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Raymond Ronald Mielke Sr., a beloved patriarch, who left us on April 30, 2025, in Standish, Michigan, after a life rich with adventure and love. Born on September 15, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, to Rudy and Bertha Mielke.
A devoted family man, Raymond married his beloved Anzy on September 6, 1958. Together, they built a family foundation that stood the test of time raising their children with a sense of joy and exploration in Bentley, Michigan. Upon retirement from a dedicated 35-year career at General Motors, Raymond and Anzy settled in Au Gres, Michigan.
Survived by his wife Anzy, their love story spanned an incredible 66 years. His legacy flourishes through his children, Becky (Mike) Metiva, Ray (Kelly) Mielke, and Leslie Huggins; his five grandchildren, Kalee (AnnMarie) Mielke, Karissa (Doug) Walker, Kelsye (Brandon) Herman, Tyler Metiva, and Zachary (Brooke) Metiva; as well as his seven great-grandchildren, Aiden, Andi, Brynlee, Nova, Walker, Bentley, Branson, and Kendall Herman.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and Bertha Mielke, and brothers Kenneth and Norman Mielke. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who were graced by his indomitable spirit.
Raymond's passion for the great outdoors created many adventures in the wilderness of Michigan and Canada, as he shared his love for hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends. The winters he spent in Florida were yet another chapter in his enduring quest for sunshine and adventure.
A life beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Raymond Ronald Mielke Sr. was truly one of a kind, and his undeniably warm presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 11:00am at St. John Lutheran Church, 206 N Court St., Au Gres, MI. 48703 with Pastor Ted Voll presiding with burial at Gibson Township Cemetery to follow. Friends and family may visit the church from 10:00am until time of service.
