The passing of Debra Porter of Stanton, Michigan leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on September 30, 2025 at the age of 68. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Kylie Shoen, Jeromy Shoen, Michael Shoen, David Porter, Annette Shelly (Todd) and Joe Porter (Chad); her adoptive son Jarrod Kemp; her grandchildren, Luke, Kyle, Tyler, Hunter, Mason, Seth, Johan, Amya, Nya, Jackson, Judson, Wren, Tylan (Kim), Colby, Riley, David, Ariel, Michael and Ashley; her siblings, Sandy Stout (Steve), Michelle Marin (Aaron), Doug Merrifield (Lorna) and Brian Merrifield; her husband LeRoy Porter; and her parents, Alger Merrifield and Juanita Howland. She was also cherished by 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Simpson Family Funeral Homes (246 S Main St, Sheridan, MI 48884). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Evergreen Township Cemetery (1508 E Muskrat Rd, Sheridan, MI 48884).
