He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Johnston and Russell Sooy; his stepparents, Don Bigelow and Mae Sooy; his sisters, Wanda Smith and Judy Andrews; his grandson Stephen DuVall; and his half-brothers, Roger Bigelow and Randy Bigelow.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; his children, Debra McCune (Robert) of Alma, Donna Shaw (Brian) of Rothbury, Stacey LeClere of Stanton and Rodney Sooy of Stanton; and his grandchildren, Michael DuVall (Kimberly) of Texas, Chad DuVall (Erin) of Lakeview, Tim Sooy (Brandy) of Stanton, Matt Sooy of Stanton, Sarah Sooy of Greenville, Korina Sooy of Greenville, Brad Sooy of Kentucky, Daniel LeClere (Brittany) of Grand Rapids, Richard McCune of Florida, Alicia LeClere of Stanton, Chelsea LeClere of Grand Rapids, Katelyn Sooy of Stanton, Taylor Sooy of Wisconsin and Kami Fuller of Belding. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Trinity Church (415 N Mill St, Stanton, MI 48888). A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
