She was predeceased by : her parents, Edward J. and Vivian I. Ryan (Empie); and her stepbrother Charles Ryan. She is survived by : her husband Jack Benson of Stanwood; her children, Bonnie Lou Neal of Grand Rapids, Wayne Benson of Big Rapids, Sven Benson of Morley, Jolene Jones (Donnie) of Virginia, Stosh Benson (Deborah) of Chippewa Lake, Amanda Ansari (Azfer) of Minnesota, Wayland Benson of Virginia, Wyatt Benson of Stanwood and Conway Benson of Colorado; her siblings, Bette Lou Moulter of Grand Rapids, Brenda Ryan of Stanwood and Joe Ryan (Trulaine) of Greenville; and her stepsister Barbara Hoaglin of Greenville. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
