He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kovach and Martha Kovach (Wery); his in-laws, Joseph and Martha Kosewski; his brothers-in-law, Ralph Kosewski, Leonard Kosewski and Donald Kosewski; and his nephews, Joseph Kosewski, Anthony Edlbeck and Timothy McClure.
He is survived by: his wife Rita; his children, John S. Kovach of Wallace, MI, Barbara Neils (Doug) of Brillion, WI, Rose Johanning (Ryan) of Plymouth, WI, Carol Ricker (John) of New Holstein, WI, Michael Kovach (Kathy) of New Holstein, WI, Julie Kovach of Birch Creek, MI, James Kovach (Maria Quintana) of Fredonia, WI, Lori Petrie (Scott) of Fond du Lac, WI and Chris Kovach of Elkhart Lake, WI.; his grandchildren, Erin Mauer (Seth), Ann Hickmann (Zeb Quesinberry), Erik Hickmann, Emily Hoyer (Mike), Sara Johanning, Becky Barros (Marco), Tina Dickmann (Alex), Amanda Johanning, Kurt Jodar, Mike Jodar, Stephanie Kovach (Christina), Katie Lasee (Adam), Jacob Petrie, Sydney Petrie and Lucas Petrie; his sister Bonnie Edlbeck (Dale) of Peshtigo, WI; and his sisters-in-law, Audrey McClure (Ollie) of Wallace, MI and Ann Kosewski (Ralph) of Milwaukee, WI. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in John's name.
