Bohdan Melnyk Obituary

It is with sadness that the passing of Bohdan Melnyk of Sterling Heights, Michigan is shared. Bohdan, born on August 26, 1927, passed away on September 20, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Dolores Bradtke; his son William Melnyk (Bill); his siblings, William Melnyk and Sally Kucway; and his siblings-in-law, Ed Kucway, Lawrence Bradtke, Gerry DeWitt, Darlene Glaser and Don Glaser.

He is survived by: his sons, Thomas (Kathleen), Nicholas (Diane) and Michael (Stephea); his daughter-in-law Theresa; his grandchildren, Lisa Koziol (Brian), Andrew, Alexander and Anthony Melnyk; his great grandchildren, Braden, Lorelai, Luc and Miles Koziol; and his sister-in-law Barbara Bradtke. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mandziuk Funeral Home (3801 18 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48314). A rosary was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the same location. The lying in state was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM at the St. Josaphat Church (26401 St Josaphat Dr, Warren, MI 48091). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:15 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church in honor of Bohdan.
