He was predeceased by: his parents, Jan Rein Dykstra and Anja Aafien Dykstra (Wierenga); and his in-laws, Donald and Beverly Kapanka. He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his daughter Aimee Dykstra Bice; his son-in-law Sean Bice; his son Ben Dykstra; his daughter-in-law Mary; his grandchildren, Annika, Lane, Wesley, Audrey, Samuel, Charlotte and Eleanor; his siblings, Elisabeth Dykstra (Mildred), Annette Buisman (Wim-Jaap), Hilary Dijkstra (Margriet), Yvonne Bond (Morgan) and Paul Dijkstra (Kristin); and his brothers-in-law, Paul Kapanka (Dee), David Kapanka (Jayne), Tom Kapanka (Julie) and Jim Kapanka (Heather). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wujek - Calcaterra & Sons (36900 Schoenherr Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48312). The lying in state will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Bethesda Christian Church (14000 Metro Pkwy, Sterling Heights, MI 48312). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
