He is survived by: his wife Roberta Jane Mazurkiewicz (Luffman); his daughter Pamela Bayagich (Robert); his grandchildren, Amy James (Taylor Perreault), James Bayagich and Lucas Bayagich; his great grandchildren, Holland (Scott Mergenthaler), Emma Chase and Elijah Chase; his great great grandchildren, Solomon and Anthony Mergenthaler; and his siblings, Barbara Schmid (Horst) and John Mazurkiewicz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

James' family would appreciate donations to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in his honor.
