With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Kathleen Harper of Sterling Heights, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 11, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernice Gayhart and Burnham Gayhart; her granddaughter Trisha McKervey; and her siblings, Robert "Butch" Patton, Diana Lamb, Linda Vermiglio, Donald "Bubby" Gayhart, Margaret Widick, Geraldine "Gerry" Pascua, Gene Gayhart and Frank Gayhart.
She is survived by: her husband John Harper; her sister Evelyn Gayhart; her children, Paul Rugenski (Julie), Eugene Rugenski, Johnny Jr. "J. J." Harper (Nicole), Elizabeth "Lisa" Fogarty (Shaun) and Wendy McKervey (Steve); her grandchildren, Nicholas Szymanski, Emily Rugenski of Chase McKervey, P. J, Morang, Jessica Rugenski, Isabel Fogarty, Ethan Harper, Avery Harper, Abigail Fogarty and Thatcher Harper; and her great grandchildren, Claire Szymanski and Kinna McKervey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Wujek - Calcaterra & Sons (36900 Schoenherr Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48312). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
