She was predeceased by: her husband Alfred Mathes; her sisters, Alice J. Johnson and Carolyn T. Pollock; and her parents, Joseph Apfel and Caroline Apfel.
She is survived by: her children, Douglas, Linda Pierce (Robert), Glenn (MaryAnn), Karen Augustyn (Phillip), Dale (Janet), Ronald (Cheryl) and Gordon (Helene). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
