It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matthew Wyatt Smith of Sterling Heights, Michigan, born in Warren, Michigan, who passed away on July 4, 2025, at the age of 44, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, Matthew Wyatt shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Matthew Wyatt farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

He is survived by: his parents, Linda Smith of Warren and John Wyatt Smith. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wujek - Calcaterra & Sons (36900 Schoenherr Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48312).

Memorial contributions to the Michigan Humane Society are appreciated.

“I had the privilege of knowing Matt socially and then as a colleague through Macomb College. He amazed us with his unique way of connecting with student & adapting to their learning styles when tutoring Math. He could talk to the instructors, his peer tutors, and management, all the same and without apology. We were sad when he left Macomb, but proud that he did so to further his education. He missed his calling to be an instructor. Our Learning Center family will always remember him dearly.”
