With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Patti M. Gillespie (Sterling Heights, Michigan), who passed away on December 11, 2025 at the age of 60. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her brother Richard Slagle; and her parents, Richard Slagle and Janet Slagle. She is survived by: her husband Robert; her son Robert James Gillespie II (Madeline); her sisters, Margaret Thompson (Jack), Mary Doebler (late Danny), Karen McGuffie (Ken Aiello) and Janet VanBeceleare (Brad); her brothers-in-law, Dave Gillespie (Denise) and Doug Gillespie (Cindy); her siblings' children, Chris Thompson (Missy), Melissa Thompson, Kevin McGuffie (Kate), Rick McGuffie II (Kaitlin), Tony Slagle, Maria Slagle and Sarah Gillespie (Roger Sargent); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jaiden, Finnegan, Charlotte, Lincoln, Kailey, Alexis, Jessica, Kaitlyn, Ben and Aiden.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home (13650 15 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48312). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location. The lying in state will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Malachy Catholic Church (14115 E 14 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48312). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions to the American Heart Association would be appreciated by her family, as the cause holds deep meaning for many loved ones.
