With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Thomas E. Calnen of Sterling Heights, Michigan, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Thomas left this world on October 11, 2025 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Calnen and Donna Calnen; and his sisters, Nancy Lennon (late Bernie) and Judy Lennon (late James). He is survived by: his siblings, Don Calnen (Rita) and Janet Smith (Patrick); his spouse Kay; his children, Kelly Mukomel (Dan), Tami Calnen (Jeff), Traci Elliott (Gary), Colleen Vollmer (Doug), Thomas Calnen (Jenny) and Dawn Calnen-Malecki (Dave); his grandchildren, Lynsey (Kyle), Danielle (Luke), Emily, Garrett (Sarah), Bryce (Courtney), Trevor (Michaela), Doug, Josh, Julia, Lauren, Tyler, Corey and Kasey; his great grandchildren, Sophie, Mason, Ollie, Isla, Charli, Teddy and Helena; his brother Knight; Tom. He is also survived by his extended family as well, and his many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A rosary will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Clawson (1368 N Crooks Rd, Clawson, MI 48017). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Our Light! Catholic Church (3077 Glouchester Dr, Troy, MI 48084).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Arc of Oakland County (https://www.thearcoakland.org)'s adaptive and inclusive recreation programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
