Linda Marie VandenBossche Obituary
Linda Marie VandenBossche passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, in Sterling, Michigan, at the age of 75.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas E. VandenBossche Sr., her parents, Joseph E. and Ethel M. (Gross) Prain, and her dear friend, David Ramey. She is survived by her three children, Eva M. (Eric) Hachikian, Thomas E. (Stephanie) VandenBossche Jr., and John J. (Sara) VandenBossche, seven grandchildren, and a multitude of beloved cousins, neighbors, colleagues, and friends.
Linda was born on July 31, 1951, in Detroit and enjoyed a happy childhood on Lee Baker Drive in Southfield. She was an only child but loved her neighbors and cousins like real siblings. Linda graduated from Southfield High School in 1969 and attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor from 1969 to 1973. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from U of M's School of Dentistry in 1973 and was a proud member of the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society. Linda devoted almost 50 years to her career as a dental hygienist and was passionate about her work and caring for her patients.
Linda married the love of her life, Thomas, in Southfield on January 11, 1975. Linda and Tom began their married life in Dearborn before settling on a farm in Livonia, where they built a family and a life that was uniquely their own. When she wasn't cleaning teeth, Linda was immersed in VandenBossche Greenhouse and Farm. She found joy in the natural world around her, especially her children, pets, and gardens. In her later years, she moved to Sterling and cherished the quiet beauty of northern Michigan.
Linda was intelligent, witty, and strong. She loved her family and took great pride in each of them. Linda worked every day of her life, and she always did the best she could with what she had at the time.
Honoring Linda's wishes, cremation has taken place with no services planned. Arrangements were entrusted to Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home in Standish, Michigan. In lieu of donations, Linda would be honored if you would plant a flower in her memory or open your heart and home to an animal in need.
