He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mehling and Augusta Mehling (Gyenke); his sisters, Elsie and Esther; his wife Carole Mehling (Gustafson); his nieces, Linda Fredenburg, Patty Frekies, Sharon Guile and Amy McCully; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Maranda Erickson, Dannielle Larivaux, Brenden Plantinga and Zach McCully.
He is survived by: his close friends, Greg, Judi Arnt and Phyllis Hall.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 5130 Old Pipestone Rd, Eau Claire, MI 49111. A funeral service was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in John's honor and memory to Bright Star Tabernacle Church of Eau Claire, Michigan.
