It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carol M. Caroen of Stockbridge, Michigan, who passed away on October 18, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Kavanagh and Patricia Kavanagh. She is survived by: her husband John C. "Jack" Caroen; her children, Scott Witgen (Kimberly) of Mesa, AZ, Melissa Hruska (John) of Lowell, MI and Terry Witgen (Noelle) of Rockford, MI; her stepchildren, Tina Brookhouse (Bruce) of Williamston, Rebecca Caroen-Smith of Stockbridge and Christopher Caroen (Tracy) of Pleasant Lake; and her sister Alice Piggot of Lansing. She is also survived by grandchildren; eight precious great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home (117 N Clinton St, Stockbridge, MI 49285). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at the Sts. Cornelius and Cyprian Catholic Cemetery (1320 Catholic Church Rd, Leslie, MI 49251).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stockbridge Area Emergency Services Authority (SAESA), in gratitude for their dedicated care and service.
