He was predeceased by: his wife Karen; his parents, Lawton and Marceline; his brothers, Bill, Jerry and Tom; and his brothers-in-law, Mike Mosson and Ken Ahlbaum.

He is survived by: his children, Deb Jones (Billy), Jason Heeney (Yaron) and Katie Begalla (John); his grandchildren, Bridgette, Bryce, Shea, Kirsten, Lotan and Christopher (Sam); his sisters, Mary Ellen Mosson and Ann Jackson (Willis); and his sisters-in-law, Juanita, Judy and Gloria Heeney. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stockbridge Area Emergency Services Authority (SAESA) or to a charity of one's choice.
