He was predeceased by : his parents, Vernie Gray and Fay Gray (Williamson); his wife Kay McDowell; his siblings, Mary Winkler (Jim), Margaret Redding, Earl Gray (Betty) and Merle Gray; and his siblings-in-law, Bonnie Gray, Brenda McDowell and Larry League.

He is survived by : his son Aaron Gray (Denise) of Muskegon Heights; his grandchildren, Joe Coffey, Josh (Makenzi) and Dorothy Faye Gray; his great grandchild Timberli; his siblings, Pauline Atwater (Tom), Alice League, Emily Yates (Paul) and Don Gray; and his siblings-in-law, Jane Dillon (Jim), Dale Redding and John McDowell.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Ernie's favorite charity, Mercy Home for Boys and Girls (1140 W. Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL, 60607).
