With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joseph R. Merkel of Sturgis, Michigan, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Adam L. Merkel and Mary Merkel (Krasulick); and his siblings, Mildred Hemphill, William A. Merkel, Paul Merkel and Thomas Merkel.
He is survived by: his wife Rachel M. Reifinger of Huff's Union Church; and his son Glenn Merkel (Eva) of Key Largo, Florida. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
