Judy Cowan Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Judy Cowan of Sturgis, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 7, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, may Judy find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may her legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Kirkwood Petrie and Catherine Petrie (Nolte); and her son Vernon Lee Cowan, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Vernon Lee Cowan, Sr.; her sons, Leon K. Cowan (Shelly) of Three Rivers and Timothy S. Cowan (Tammy) of Wolcottville, Indiana; and her brother James Petrie of Las Vegas, Nevada.. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hackman Chapel (114 S Nottawa St, Sturgis, MI 49091). A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
