He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Prater and Otis Sparkman; and his grandparents, Zeke and Zelia Prater. He is survived by: his wife Twyla Prater (Gillette); his children, Zachary Prater of Sturgis, Dustin Combs (Danielle) of Wawaka and Julissa Dowling (Brian) of Somerset; his grandchildren, Lindsey and Landon; his brothers, Bill Prater of Sturgis, Scott Schuster (Tracy) of Sturgis and Chris Schuster (Lenore) of Sturgis; and his stepfather Douglas Schuster of Sturgis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
