It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Carey of Swartz Creek, Michigan, born in Flint, Michigan, who passed away on April 7, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Robert Carey; her parents, Robert Franklin Carter and Daisy Lucille; and her siblings, James Robert Carter and Nelda Jean Poore.

She is survived by : her children, Steve Carey (Kim), David Carey (Donna), Rebecca Carey and Paul Carey (Krysten); and her grandchildren, Leah Gamboa (Oscar), Emily King (Tim), Ashley Akins (Kile), Melissa Williams (David), Meagan Foster (Greg), Michael Carey (Jessica), Jonathon Carey (Alison) and Christopher Carey (Kate). She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Swartz Funeral Home (1225 W Hill Rd, Flint, MI 48507). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church in Flushing.
