Frederick P. Brissette Obituary
Frederick "Doc" Brissette, age 75, passed away on October 7, 2025, in Tawas City, Michigan. Born on May 17, 1950, in Standish, Michigan, Fred lived a life rooted in tradition, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the simpler times of the early 20th century.
Fred was the beloved father of six children: Brenda (David) Vargas, Frederick Brissette, George (Shannon) Brissette, Casey Brissette, Lacey Brissette, and Adam (Jennifer) Brissette. His legacy continues through his 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a large and loving family of siblings: Lori (Gerald) Reno, Anna (Ronald) Branda, Ted (Jeanne) Brissette, Peter (Linda) Brissette, Penny Meloche, Patrica Brissette, Peggy Brissette, and Dorothy "Jo" (Lester) Jansen. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Felix Brissette and Dorothy Brissette; his sister Rose Mary Brissette; his brother Michael Brissette; and two infant children—a son and daughter named Marianne.
Known affectionately as "Doc," Fred was easily recognized by his signature engineer's cap and matching overalls. He had an unmistakable presence—equal parts, rugged charm and warm-hearted humor. Whether it was lending a helping hand or sharing a laugh that could brighten any room, Fred made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
A man of many interests and talents, Fred found joy in riding motorcycles with his sons and taking the occasional train ride—an experience that echoed his fondness for bygone eras. He spent countless hours tinkering with old farm tractors and always had a building project underway. His passion for craftsmanship and mechanics reflected not only in what he built but also in how he lived—steadfastly hands-on and deeply connected to the tools of another time.
Fred's life was one of quiet strength and enduring values. He embraced simplicity not as limitation but as freedom—the freedom to create with his hands, to share generously with others, and to live authentically according to his own rhythm.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a reminder of the enduring power of kindness, laughter, and hard work.
