He was predeceased by : his grandsons, Jeremy and Justin; his parents, Charles Junior and Mary Louise Pate; and his brother Mike.

He is survived by : his wife Lynda Pate; his children, Charles Pate Jr. (Debbie), Dean Pate (Pam), Holly Himick and Jason Pate (Kassandra); his grandchildren, Chuck, Emily, Alyssa, Madison, Isabel and Leah; and his siblings, Pat (Tim), Susie (Glen), Jeff (Cecilia), Linda (Mike) and Tom.

In honor of Charles, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The Wounded Warrior Project, or the Covenant House.
