He is survived by: his children, Gary Lee Hester Jr. (Lisa), Nicole Onan (Christian) and Jennifer Brownell; his siblings, Mary Banas (Richard) and Terry Newburn (Marty); his grandchildren, Gage Brownell, Kerry Wozniak III, Gary Lee Hester III, Oliver Onan and Alexander Hester; and his great grandchild Amir Wozniak.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Taylor Chapel of Voran Funeral Home (23750 Goddard Rd, Taylor, MI 48180). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Downriver for Veterans in honor of Gary.
