He was predeceased by : his parents, Wayne and Wanda; his son Donald Joseph; and his brothers, Wayne and Tom.

He is survived by : his wife Connie Avery; his children, Ken Avery (Julie), Mike Avery (Melissa), Steve Avery (Heather) and Jennifer Wark (Brett); his sister Cheryl Adams; and his grandchildren, Kylie, Cassidy, Chelsea, Evan, Emma, Owen, Alexis and Ava.
