He was predeceased by : his daughter Linda Nguyen; his parents, Elgin Kirby and Mamie Kirby; and his granddaughter Lisa Heaberlin. He is survived by : his wife Mary Lee Kirby; his daughter Mary Smith (Mike); his grandchildren, Tonie Frank (Larry), Brandon Heaberlin, Ryan Christie (Scott), Billy LaForest and Nathan Heaberlin; and his great grandchildren, Alexis, Tyler, Brianna, Jacob, Brandon, Zoie and Paiten.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home (30895 W Huron River Dr, Flat Rock, MI 48134). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Michigan Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
