He is survived by: his wife Diana Gardner; his children, Jessica Crain (Nathan), Robert Gardner (Julie), Christina Doolan, Ed Schmitt, Meghan Schafer and Adam Schafer (Lori); his sister Pam Meland; his grandchildren, Kennedy, Cade, Noelle, Brandon, Melissa, Alex, Briana, Morgan and Colin; and his great grandchildren, Eli, Lillian and Vivian.
