He was predeceased by: his parents, Garrett Hafstad and Bertha Hafstad (Zimprich); his sisters, Joann Bretzlaff and Rosemary Garcia; and his sister-in-law Claudia Hafstad.
He is survived by: his wife Jerrie (Lehnen); his children, Robert Allen Byrum (Katrina), Karen Castleman (William), Lori Jean Whitaker (John) and Kristen Sielaff (Eric); and his siblings, Kathleen Nanett Rice and Thomas Garrett Hafstad. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
