He was predeceased by: his parents, William Kiger and Erma Irene Adams, Sr. (Wagner); his sons, Howard and Gale Bertke; his son-in-law Tony Bowers; his brother Frank Adams; and his sister-in-law Betty Adams.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Jeane Bertke (Lones); his children, Cynthia Bowers, Charlie Adams (Benjamin Colmery), Debra Franchi (Dean), Gregory Bertke and Jay B. Bertke (Nancy); his grandchildren, Britiany Bowers, McKenzie Sulisz (Steven), William K. Adams III, Kristina Rankin (DJ), Orienda, Anoria, Lorenzo Franchi, Eric Bertke (Lindsay), Justin Bertke, Tasha Thurman (Steve), Andrew Bertke (Tanya) and Jacob Bertke; and his daughter-in-law Peggy Bertke.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Tecumseh United Methodist Church (605 Bishop Reed Dr, Tecumseh, MI 49286). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations will support the Geriatrics Research on Aging & Age Related Disease and/or the Education & Research Support - Koelling (which supports ongoing education and research in cardiology) at the University of Michigan.
