He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Kenneth and Viva Shaffer (Brown); his wife Janet Horn; and his brothers, Curt, Phil and Marvin Shaffer.
He is survived by: his sons, Scott Shaffer (Lori), Daniel Shaffer (Lynett) and Martin Shaffer; his grandsons, Nicholas Shaffer (Stacie), Adam Shaffer (Melanie) and Anthony Shaffer (Victoria); his siblings, Penny Sievers (Terry) and Lester Shaffer (Cindi); and his sister-in-law Linda Shaffer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Union Church (206 W Randall St, Tekonsha, MI 49092). A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in memory of Don are suggested to the Union Church (United Church of Christ) in Tekonsha.
