He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde E. Saunders and Daisy Saunders (Betz); and his siblings, Fay, Kathrine, Kenneth, Clyde Jr. and Charles "Tom".
He is survived by: his nephew Dr. Frederick Kruse; his brother Donald H. Saunders; his wife Patricia Saunders of Lyons; his son Mark Saunders MD (Caroline); his grandchildren, Chelsea, Benjamin (Julia), Eric and Elizabeth; his son Eric Saunders; his grandsons, Daniel and Michael; his daughter Mindy Dougherty; his grandchildren, Joseph (Cassidy), Abigail and Kaleigh; his daughter Beth Loehfelm (Erik); his grandchildren, Alexis (Declan), Haley, Kylie and Riley; his child Keely Aman (Matt); his grandsons, Jack and Luke; his children, Gregory Carter and Colleen O'Neil; and his grandchildren, Ellie, Annibel and Keely. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home-Oregon Chapel (440 S Coy Rd, Oregon, OH 43616). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
