With sadness, we share the passing of James E. Yates of Temperance, Michigan. James, born on May 28, 1944, passed away on October 31, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember James for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While he will be deeply missed, the influence he had on the lives around him remains. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell E. Yates and Vanetta Yates (Bean); and his granddaughter Lauren Yates. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Christopher Yates (Jamie), Steven Larson (Melinda) and Anna Blevins; his sister Patricia Lincoln (David); and his grandson Andrew Yates.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home (1640 Smith Rd, Temperance, MI 48182). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
