She was predeceased by: her parents, Estel L. Bell and Letha M. Bell (Floyd); and her sister Fern Knauss. She is survived by: her sisters, Sandra Smith (Wayne) and Sally Vellenga (Ron); her brother-in-law Gordon Knauss; her niece Stephanie Chrisman (Shane Casey); her nephews, Mike Knauss (Karen) and David Omo; and her close friends, Bill Baltz, Anthony Franchina, Rich Wheat, Steve and Mickey Fisher.

Donations in Nancy's memory may be directed to the St. Joseph County Animal Rescue Fund.

I originally met Nancy through her research with the sonic glasses when I worked in Chicago at the State of Illinois rehab facility for adults who are visually impaired. Our friendship continued through the years and we often spent weekends at Zwingli Farm. Nancy was a very special person and will not be forgotten.”
