He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton E. Matthew and Jean E. Matthew (Douple); and his siblings, Lisa Matthew and Tim Matthew. He is survived by: his wife Jan Matthew (Swartzentruber) of Three Rivers; his children, Bethany Miller (David) of Battle Creek, Kathleen Lyczynski (Clayton) of Three Rivers, Michael Matthew of Montpelier, Cheryl Hoskins (Adam) of Belleville and Laura VanderMei (Chad) of Three Rivers; and his grandchildren, Glorianna Miller, Annalisa Miller, Alayna Miller, Sophia Nelson (Eli), Gweneth Lyczynski, Isaiah Matthew, Eleanor Matthew, Jackson Matthew, Emma Hoskins, Katherine Hoskins and Lucille VanderMei. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Three Rivers Nazarene Church (1221 Coon Hollow Rd, Three Rivers, MI 49093). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
