He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred L. Schlimgen and Grace N. Schlimgen (Price); and his wife Marilyn Mercer (Goode). He is survived by: his stepsons, Bradley Mercer and Anthony "Tony" Mercer (Michielle Sweet); his adoptive daughter Sabra; his grandchildren, Tony Mercer, Madeline Gilbert (Jeff) and Paige Sweet (Cody Martin); and his siblings-in-law, Tom Goode (Peggy), Lois Bileydi (Sumer), Jean Freimund and Virginia Sharp. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Three Rivers (320 N Main St, Three Rivers, MI 49093). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Donations in Richard's memory may be directed to First Presbyterian Church of Three Rivers/Centreville or to A.A. Envelopes will be available at Hohner Funeral Home.
