She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Sowey and Ann Sowey. She is survived by: her husband Paul Douglas; her children, Jeff Winkler (Nicole), Jill Douglas, Nick Winkler (Amy), Matt Winkler and Julie Winkler; and her grandchildren, Jacob, Benjamin, Charlie, Hailey, Logan and Connor.
Carol's lifelong interest in science and learning contributed to her decision for anatomical donation to the University of Michigan where she will continue to give to others.
