He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Kroupa and Evelyn Kroupa (Belleville); and his brother John. He is survived by: his wife Joan Marie Lautner; his children, Michelle Kroupa of Traverse City, Mary Wells (Scott) of Wellesley, MA and John Kroupa (Sarah) of Traverse City; his grandchildren, Charles, Evelyn, Samuel, Meredith, Oliva, Annette and Jackson; his siblings, Marilyn Linderman (Jan) and Nicholas Kroupa (Kathy); and his sister-in-law Karol McLain.

Per the family's request, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) or MD Anderson Cancer Center.
