He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Marie (McNiel) and Edward Leo O'Keefe, Sr.; his children, Maria O'Keefe of Kansas City, MO, Laurie Brunette (Jeff), Colleen Safir of Bradenton, FL, Eddie O'Keefe, III (Allison) of Traverse City and Sean O'Keefe (Stacey) of Traverse City; his grandchildren, Gary, Rory Safir, Kate, Nicky O'Keefe, Molly and Fionn O'Keefe; his former wife Sharon O'Keefe of Holmes Beach, FL.; his son-in-law Gene Safir; and his brothers, Paul and Robert Bortell.

“I send my condolences to the family...Ed will never be forgotten. His smile, laughter and sense of humor always stood out. He even taught me the unique way to give an Irish compliment to someone. Ed always greeted people with his smile and a handshake wherever he saw you. Working for Ed from the late 70's to the mid 80's was fun and educational. Its been great to know the family over the years. Quality people and I am proud to say I know you. Thank you Ed! The memories will always be there.”
