He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry J Schlagel and Amelia Schlagel; his significant other Sherry; and his brothers, Alvin Spoering, Julian Schlagel and Jerry Schlagel.
He is survived by: his son Scott Schlagel (Lisa).
In lieu of flowers or contributions the family is asking for memorials to be given to Trinity Lutheran's Altar Guild.
