As Richard departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Richard. Though Richard may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He is survived by: his wife Colleen; and his children, Cathy Stepka, Mike Ayling (Vicky) and Chris Annese (Tony). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations be made to the Traverse City Junior Golf Association in honor of his lifelong belief that education and sports could be great equalizers.
