He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn; his son Scott McDonald; and his sister Ellen Wescott. He is survived by: his daughters, Keri McDonald, Kathi Mulder (Craig) and Kelly Smith; his grandchildren, Katie Strittmatter (Phil), Brandi Lerra, Rob Wangler (Kate), Tara Mulder (Stephen Bartlett), Laura Robinson (Peter), Hannah Mulder (Hazen Remus), Molly Smith and Morgan McDonald; and his great grandchildren, Carter, Violet, Brodie, Iris, Philip, Teddy, Freya and Felix.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home & Cremation Services (305 Sixth St, Traverse City, MI 49684). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home (305 Sixth St, Traverse City, MI 49684).
